As part of our strategic growth, we are seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer to join our Client's team in Los Angeles, CA.
Position Overview:
The Senior Environmental Engineer will play a pivotal role in leading environmental remediation projects, with a particular focus on chlorinate solvent sites and exposure to emerging contaminants such as PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances). This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale remediation efforts, while also mentoring and guiding junior staff to address complex environmental challenges. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in remedial design, project management, and a deep understanding of environmental regulations and technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage environmental remediation projects, focusing on oil & gas, chlorinated solvent sites, from assessment through design and implementation. Experience with emerging contaminants (PFAS), preferred.
- Oversee and provide technical direction for the development of remedial action plans (RAPs), feasibility studies, and design documents.
- Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff and project teams, fostering professional development and technical expertise.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest developments in environmental engineering, emerging contaminants, and regulatory changes.
- Assist in business development efforts to grow the firm’s environmental consulting services, including proposal writing and client presentations.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to support strategic goals for the company’s long-term growth.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in environmental consulting, with a strong focus on remediation projects.
- Proven experience in remedial design, particularly for GWE, SVE, and/or VIMs
- Strong project management skills, with experience overseeing project budgets, timelines, and deliverables.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, regulatory agencies, and team members.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred, but not required.
- LEED accreditation or other relevant certifications are a plus.
